Account data
Neon Auth manages authentication. The application stores your account ID, email, display name, subscription status, and session metadata in Neon PostgreSQL.
Audio and captions
The extension captures audio from the selected browser tab after you click its toolbar button; click again to stop. The website captures audio after you choose a source and grant browser permission. Audio is transmitted over encrypted connections through the CaptionFlow gateway to your selected provider: Alibaba Cloud Qwen or Google Gemini. Translated captions return to your browser. The application does not store raw audio or full caption text by default. Provider processing is subject to each provider's terms.
Cookies and preferences
Authentication uses session cookies. Caption appearance settings are stored locally in your browser. This version does not include advertising or marketing tracking integrations.
Extension access and connection information
The extension handles the selected tab's URL to identify supported pages and existing CaptionFlow tabs to synchronize sign-in. It keeps caption preferences locally, and the active tab ID and capture start time in temporary browser session storage. It uses short-lived caption access tickets and does not read or export Neon authentication cookies. The gateway and hosting infrastructure process connection IP addresses and operational logs for service delivery, security and troubleshooting; this does not involve GPS access.
Service providers and limited use
Neon provides authentication and account storage, Vercel hosts the website, Render hosts the realtime gateway, and the selected translation provider processes audio for captions. CaptionFlow's use and transfer of user data follow the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use data for the disclosed caption functionality and related operations, do not sell it or use it for personalized advertising, and do not use it for creditworthiness or lending decisions.
Your choices and data requests
You can stop capture with the extension toolbar button or the website's stop control, sign out, clear extension preferences, or uninstall the extension. For account access, correction or deletion requests, contact the publisher using the developer contact address in CaptionFlow's Chrome Web Store listing. Account and session metadata are used for authentication, entitlement management, service operations and resolving data requests. Copies controlled by independent service providers remain subject to their terms and applicable obligations.
Payments
Pancake payment integration is pending. This version does not collect payment details or enable paid checkout.
